Sarah Detling, MA, LPCC-S

Sarah Detling, PCC-S is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 18 years of experience providing pediatric mental health care in the school, community and hospital settings. She earned her Bachelors in Child and Family Studies from Ohio University in 2003 and a Masters in Counseling from The Ohio State University in 2006.


Sarah has specialized training and experience in early childhood mental health, anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidality, behavioral challenges, self esteem, social issues, school related concerns, and parent training. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes this to help children and adolescents understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while equipping them with the necessary coping skills, resilience and confidence to navigate life’s challenges. Additionally, she utilizes
mindfulness strategies, motivational interviewing as well as a trauma informed and person-centered approach.

 

Sarah is also trained in several evidence-based parenting programs including Triple P (positive parenting program) levels 2, 3, and 4, Triple P for Teens, Triple P Fearless, and
The Incredible Years. She is passionate about supporting and empowering parents to learn and implement skills to support their child’s mental health and navigate difficult behaviors in order to improve parent-child relationships, support mental wellness, and strengthen family functioning.


She understands the decision to seek support from a counselor can be difficult and is committed to providing a comfortable and judgement free space where you can be your
authentic self. She believes everyone deserves to have a safe and trusting space with someone who will listen and come alongside them in their journey to mental wellness.
