Specialties:

1. Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy

2. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy

3. Anxiety, depression, and trauma treatment, ages 16+

Jason Waller is a therapist who specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma in adolescents and adults. He sees therapy as a "No Judgment Zone!" where each patient is given the space to be who they really are without fear. Seeing the essence of the therapist’s role as deep listening, he works to understand the unique life and suffering of each patient. He sees the recovery journey as one of self-discovery where his patients gain insight into their pain, what causes it, and what keeps it in place so that it can be truly and permanently conquered. He is passionate about helping people to overcome mental pain and live free, joyful, and authentic lives!

Jason comes to therapy after a successful academic career as a philosophy professor with a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Purdue University. He decided to leave the academy and devote his career to the problem of human emotional and psychological suffering after successfully overcoming his own depression with the help of a therapist. He went back to school and earned an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, studied psychoanalysis at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, and trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.) He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is working on a Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work (i.e., Psychodynamic Therapy) at the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago.
