Selena Spencer, Ed.S., NCSP

Selena is a School Psychologist, licensed by the Ohio Board of Psychology and the Ohio Department of Education. She has worked in education for over a decade in various roles. Recently, Selena received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Miami University and has her Principal License. Additionally, Selena has her Master's Degree and Educational Specialist degree from The Ohio State University in School Psychology. Selena has practiced as a school psychologist within the public school setting for 7 years as well as within private practice for three years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rio Grande in Early Childhood Education as well as her reading endorsement. Before becoming a school psychologist, Selena was a classroom teacher and reading specialist. Selena also has been trained in Orton Gillingham and is passionate about the Science of Reading.
Selena is not only passionate, but advocates for the Science of Reading, LGBTQIA+, and Equity in education. She previously served on the executive board of the Ohio School Psychologist Association (OSPA) as the Co-Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Additionally, Selena enjoys working with children and adolescents that may be experiencing anxiety, ADHD, depression, difficulty with regulating their emotions, needs within executive functioning, and Specific Learning Disabilities (such as: Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia).
Her primary services include: counseling, therapy, social groups, diagnostic evaluations, and parent advocacy. Selena’s specialties include: counseling/therapy with middle/high school age children, working with children/adolescents within the LGBTQIA+ community, completing diagnostic evaluations for school age children that may have a Specific Learning Disability (such as: Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia), and providing support for parents with children with disabilities.
Selena goes by the pronouns of she/her/hers and currently resides in Powell, Ohio. Her interests include: spending time with friends and family, playing with her three dogs, Crossfit, reading, fashion, watching movies, and learning as much as she can about new research-based approaches.
